Gwent Police receive complaint from Corruption Valley

Gwent Police receive complaint over allegations of corruption

View Legal Notices

On May 20th 2020, Gwent Police Professional Standards Department received and recorded a complaint about allegations of corruption.

Allegations of corruption against Gwent Police, and operational or political partners of Gwent Police

After a series of initial discussions with a Complaint Assessor, the department has since received an 11-page document outlining how, as published in Part One of Corruption Valley, Gwent Police have-

  • made it impossible for me to report corrupt acts committed by public officials who are operational and political partners of Gwent Police, it's Chief Constable or the Police and Crime Commissioner due to actions undertaken by Gwent Police previously, and
  • such actions may be indicative of Gwent Police actively assisting those operational partners to conceal those corrupt acts which I wish to report.

As the complaint meets the mandatory criteria for referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, I will update this post with news of any progress as soon as I can.
